…that in perception darkness does not appear as the mere absence of light, but as an active counterprinciple.

Understand:
you stubbornly, steadfastly remain,
unconscious of very much,
while "The Unconscious" is, conscious of all.

You, remain in The Dark,
while "The Unconscious" holds all Light which,
you cannot…yet…perceive.

In a very different way, painters like Georges Braque went beyond illumination, not be creating a universe of light, but by translating the darkness of shadows back into a property of the object. Light and shadow are no longer applied to the objects but constitute them.

Realize:
"The Unconscious", "The Abyss", is not dark…you are.

You maintain an unconscious aspect,
only until you do not,
which is The Moment, when, you firmly tie The Knot.

Allow for that which you perceive to be in darkness,
to be finally exposed to that new light that,
you surely are.

Both figures are tense, in themselves as well as in their relation to each other, with the antagonism of contrasting forces, which reflects a modern interpretation of the human community and the human mind.

what remains dark to [you, The Awareness],
remains so only because, you perceive darkly;
for you are this darkness which, puts forth light.

Grasp:
awareness of your own heretofore unconscious
immersion within "The Unconscious",
brings that supposed darkness into a growing light.
